Aaliyah Hampton, Berea - Hampton, a Hopkinsville, Kentucky freshman guard, becomes just the second player in USA South Women's Basketball history to be named Player and Rookie of the Year in the same season (Chelsie Schweers, Christopher Newport,  2007-08). She also is the first Berea women's basketball student-athlete to collect an individual end of the year USA South honor in the program's short time within the League. Hampton leads the Conference in scoring, averaging 20.5 points per game and 27.8 points per 40 minutes, to go along with a total of 512 points. She also has a USA South-best 142 made free throws this winter. In addition to her scoring numbers, Hampton is averaging 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Against USA South opposition, Hampton ranked in the Conference's top-three of total points, points per game, points per 40 minutes, three-point field goal percentage and free throws made. She was named to the USA South First Team All-Conference and All-West Division teams as well as League Rookie of the Week three times this season.
