Three Named to USA South Weekly Awards

ROME, GA.-

Three Berea College Student-Athletes were honroed this week for their excellence in the playing field by the USA South: 

Volleyball Player of the Week

Carolina Robles- The sophomore right side hitter from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico averaged 4.33 kills and 4.50 digs per set as the Mountaineers posted a 2-0 record last week versus USA South competition. In a 3-0 win over Piedmont, Robles posted a double-double of 14 kills and ten digs with two assists. In a 3-0 victory over Brevard, Robles notched another double-double of 12 kills and 17 digs with four service aces, two blocks and one assist.

Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week


Logan McKenzie- The senior from Athens, Tennessee placed 21st out of 279 runners at the Louisville Classic last week. McKenzie completed the 8,000-meter course in a time of 24:54 helping the Mountaineers to an eighth place team finish. 

Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week


Luke Wilson- The freshman from Point Pleasant, West Virginia placed 46th out of 279 runners at the Louisville Classic last week. Wilson completed the 8,000-meter course in a time of 25:16 helping the Mountaineers to an eighth place team finish.
