Men's XC Ranked #13 In the Nation

Oct. 23, 2019 -- The 1st place finish at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble this weekend keeps Berea soaring up in the polls. First it was announced yesterday the Berea College Men's Cross Country team is still the #1 ranked team in the South/Southeast Region, and today, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has ranked the team 13th in the nation, 8 places higher than the previous week and the highest ranking for the Men's program in the NCAA Divison III era.  

The Mountaineers were ranked 21st going into last weekend's meet at the Inter-Regional Rumble, but after the dominating performance, where they out-ran nationally ranked rivals, including now #14 Otterbein College who fell 3 spots in this week's poll. The Men also defeated the #24 Bates College who fell 7 spots in this week's poll and also #20 Case Western, who rose 9 spots in the poll. The Mountaineers finished just 5 points off of #12 MIT. 

The Mountaineers are the highest ranked team in the South/Southeast region as well as the USA South Athletic Conference. This is also the highest national ranking for any Berea College athletic program in the NCAA Division III era, which they broke their own record when they were ranked #20 two weeks ago.
