Jackson Leads Baseball to Saturday Split

Lawton Jackson went the distance in the opener, scattering seven hits over seven frames and allowing just two earned runs.  The senior right-hander struck out nine and was supported by the Mountaineer defense, which played error-less baseball behind him.  Senior Kenneth Cullings led the offensive attack, going 2-4 and driving in a run.

The NCAA Division II Might Oaks released some offensive frustration early in game two, plating two runs in the first and six more in the second enroute to the 10-0 win in game two.  Oakland City did most of the damage against Mountaineer starter Lance Shelton who surrendered seven hits and seven runs in 1.1 innings of work.

Berea College (2-9) and Oakland City will resume their four-game weekend set on Sunday with a doubleheader scheduled to start at 1:00 PM.
