Brian Hill Named New Head Coach of Berea Baseball

BEREA, KY-  The Berea College Athletic Department announced Wednesday that former assistant coach Brian Hill will take the role of head coach of the Berea College baseball team.

Hill, a former Berea College baseball player, was a standout pitcher during his time of sporting the Mountaineer blue. Some of his more impressive notes include that he is tied for the most saves in an individual season, second all-time in pitching wins, second in career saves, fourth in career innings pitched, second in career strikeouts, and tossed 7 complete games for Berea during his time as a player.

Hill took over as the pitching coach for the Mountaineers for the 2014-2015 season, and is entering his third season of coaching with associate head coach Todd Morris.  When asked about his new role as head coach, Hill commented, "I'm hoping to bring a new energy to the team. Any time there is a coaching change like this it gives us a chance to regroup and start over- almost like a blank slate. We have a good group of guys, and I'm confident that our actions on and off the field will show everyone what Berea College baseball is all about."
