Grayson, KY- The men's basketball team headed to Kentucky Christian University this evening. In a long hard fought game the Mountaineers came up short in overtime 91-89. This loss puts the Mountaineers at 3-2 for the season.
The first half saw a lot of back and forth action as there was several lead changes. At the end of the half Berea headed into the locker room down two points, 42-40. With three minutes to go in the game Berea found themselves with a ten point lead. The Knights rallied back in the final minutes and with under a minute left hit a three point shot to send the game into overtime.
In overtime neither team took more than a two point lead. KCU sank a shot with 3.9 seconds left on the clock to secure the win. Torell Carter led the Mountaineers in points, rebounds and assists. Carter scored 34 points, pulled down 9 rebounds and had 8 assists. Berea shot 52.3% from the field and 72.7% from the free throw line.
The men will be back in action at home this Saturday, December 9th against Brevard College, tip-off is scheduled for 2:00pm.
