Mountaineers Fall Short Against Brevard

Berea, KY- The men's basketball team welcomed Brevard College to the Seabury Center on December 9, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. for their fourth home game this season.  Berea gained a lead in the first half but in the end fell to the Tornadoes in overtime 62-68.  The Mountaineers' record for this season is now 3-3.

At half time Berea led Brevard College 32-26. Torell Carter led the first half with 8 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Jair Jackson also added 7 points 4 rebounds in the first half as well.  Berea shot 39 percent from the field and committed 14 turnovers in the first half. 

With under a minute remaining in the second half, Freshman Torell Carter tied up the game leading the Mountaineers into overtime, where they unfortunately were not able to gain a lead. Overall, Berea shot 36 percent in free-throws. Torell Carter led the Mountaineers with a total of 24 points, 2 assists and 10 rebounds. Hadyn Roe also led with a total of 12 points and 3 rebounds.

The men will be back in action at home on December the 9th where they will take on Piedmont College at 1:00 P.M.
