Miller Leads Mountaineers to 118-103 Win Against Johnson

Knoxville, TN – The Berea College men's basketball team traveled to Knoxville, TN to take on the Johnson University Royals.  This is the second time this season the teams have played.  In their first meeting, Berea won 97-91.  The result was the same this time around with the Mountaineers defeating the Royals 118-103 bringing their overall record to 7-12. 

The Mountaineers shot 55.7 percent from the field, 78.6% from the line and 61.3% from behind the arc.  Overall, the Mountaineers shot an impressive 19-31 from the three-point line helping them defeat the Royals 118-103 on the road. 

The Royals find an answer for the hot hand of Terique Miller.  Miller shot 11-15 from the field, 11-15 from behind the arc and 7-7 at the line to finish with a team and career high 48 points.  His 11 three pointers ties him with Daniel Brown and Jeremy Wood for most three's made in a single game. Torell Carter added 25 points and led the team in assists with 8.  Dyonta Bizzle-Brown and Deandre Lightfoot also scored in the double-digits with 13 and 10.  Chris Spratling led the Mountaineers under the glass hauling in 13 total rebounds. 

The Mountaineers will be back in action on the road Saturday, February 3rd  against USA South Conference member N.C. Wesleyan.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00pm.
