Rocky Mount, NC- The Berea College men's basketball team traveled to North Carolina Wesleyan this weekend. The Mountaineers could not match the second half play of the Battling Bishops losing the contest 82-62. This brings the Mountaineers overall record to 7-13 and 3-9 in conference play.
Berea only went into the second down 37-33. Torell carter led the first half with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. The Mountaineers shot 35.1% from the field and 80% from the line.
In the second half, the Fighting Bishops shooting was too much for Berea as the Mountaineers lost 82-62. Torell Carter led Berea with 22 points and 4 assists. Chris Spratling was the only other Mountaineer to score in the double-digits with 12 points. Doyonta Bizzle-Brown led the Mountaineers under the glass pulling in 9 rebounds.
Berea will be back in action at home on Wednesday, February 7th taking on USA South Conference member Covenant College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
