Midway, KY – The Berea College men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season after falling 81-71 to the Midway University Eagles. Isaac Caudill led the Mountaineers with 16 points and Torell Carter pitched in 11 points and 6 rebounds.

The Berea College men's basketball team put on their worst shooting performance of the season only shooting 35 percent from the field and 12 percent from three. The Mountaineers could not buy a basket as every shot seem to roll out or be a bit off. This, along with an impressive performance from Midway's Kwon Evans, proved to be too much for the Mountaineers. Evans finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds.

At one point, Berea was down as many as 18 in the second half. Dakota Mays provided a spark off the bench, coming in and hitting two 3-pointers to mount a comeback for Berea. The Mountaineers were able to scrap and cut the lead down to 6 points but missed opportunities and free throws cost them too much as the Mountaineers fall 81-71 to the Eagles.

Deandre Lightfoot and Andrew Doty each contributed 11 points, while Dakota Mays added 8 of his own.

The Mountaineers hope to bounce back this weekend as they travel to North Carolina to begin Conference play. Berea will face Methodist University Saturday, December 1st at 2:00 PM in

Fayetteville, NC and then immediately turn around on Sunday, December 2nd to face Greensboro College at 2:00 PM in Greensboro, NC.
