Men's Basketball Defeats Greensboro On the Road

Greensboro, NC – After dropping two straight games on the road, the Berea College Mountaineers were able to bounce back in a major way and pick up an 87-83 win on the road against Greensboro College. Isaac Caudill led the way for the Mountaineers with his collegiate career high 26 points to go along with 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The Mountaineers came out firing on all cylinders and jumped out to an early lead. Shooting over 66 percent from the field and 60 percent from three, the Mountaineers found themselves with a 19-point lead at the 8-minute mark of the first half. The Mountaineers would hold their lead and went into the half up 52-37.

The Greensboro Pride would fight back with a run to start the half and would even find a way to tie up the game later on in the second half. Justin Minnis would provide the spark for the Pride scoring 30 points while Keyford Langley would add 21 points and 4 assists, but it just was not enough for the Pride. Mountaineers guards Isaac Caudill and Deandre Lightfoot would step up and make some big plays to lift the Mountaineers to an 87-83 victory over the Pride.

Lightfoot would end up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Torell Carter added 14 points before exiting the game with an injury.

The Mountaineers will be back in action on Tuesday, December 4 as they travel to Knoxville, Tennessee to face the Johnson University Royals at 7:00 PM.
