Berea, KY – The Mountaineers returned home after playing five straight games on the road to take on the North Carolina Wesleyan Bishops. Because of a big night by Chris Braswell, who shot 6 for 9 from behind the arch and finished with 30 points, the Bishops pulled out a 92-83 victory over the Mountaineers on the road.

N.C. Wesleyan came out shooting over 45 percent from the field and over 60 percent from three to start the game, however, it was the Bishops rebounding that was the difference in this game. The Bishops pulled down 7 offensive rebounds in the first half alone which allowed for second opportunities for guys like Chris Braswell who had 20 points in the first half alone. N.C. Wesleyan went into halftime with a 43-38 lead over the Mountaineers.

The Mountaineers were able to find a way to cut down on the Bishops three-point shooting in the second half but once again it came down to the rebounding effort of the Bishops. N.C. Wesleyan outrebounded the Mountaineers 25 to 11 in the second half and used those rebounds to get extra shots inside the paint. The Mountaineers rallied their way back into the game, but the Bishops were eventually able to pull away with a 92-83 win on the road.

Andrew Doty led the way for the Mountaineers contributing 20 points and 8 rebounds, while Deandre Lightfoot and Isaac Caudill each pitched in 19 points.

The Mountaineers will be back at home next Saturday, December 15 to host Piedmont College at 2:00 PM at the Seabury Center.
