Mountaineers Overwhelm Boyce

BEREA, KY – The Berea College men's basketball team (4-3) defeated Boyce College 86-56 at the Seabury Center to start Thanksgiving break off.

In this high scoring game, the Mountaineer's shot 47.0% from the field and 40% from the three-point line against the Bulldogs. They went 12-20 from the free throw line and had 20 fast break points against Boyce College's 5. Berea had 13 turnovers to Boyce's 16.

The Mountaineers were led by junior guard Torell Carter, who scored 31 points, had 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. Carter shot 11-14 from the field and 3-3 on for three pointers and had 3 dunks. Terique Miller also had an impressive game and put up 19 points, along with 5 assists and 3 rebounds.

The Boyce College Bulldogs were led by Aaron Quinley, scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist. Issac Gibson scored 13 points and 6 rebounds for the bulldogs.

The Mountaineers led the entire game, starting off with three 3's within the first minute by Isaac Caudill, and 2 by Terique Miller. Following, the Mountaineers went on a 16-point run during the 18:45 mark. Soon after that they went on a 15-point run during the 12:30 mark. The first half ended with a score of 52- 27. In the second half the Mountaineers outscored the Bulldogs 34-29 to win the game.

The Mountaineers will travel to Brevard College for their next game on December 7th. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 am.
