Koty Riley has been with the Berea College men’s basketball coaching staff in 2016-17.  Riley came to Berea from Tollesboro, Kentucky after attending Lewis County High School and was a part of Coach Hemenway’s first recruiting class at Berea College in 2011.  He enjoyed two seasons playing for the Mountaineers before shoulder injuries shortened his playing career.  During the 2011-12 season, he played in 26 games at Berea starting 15 times while averaging 6.6 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game.  As a sophomore in 2012-13, Riley started all 31 games while averaging 9.6 points per game and 3.4 rebounds.  He helped the Mountaineers to a 15-16 overall record, scoring in double figures on 17 occasions and scored a career-high 18 points in the Homecoming game win over Bryan College.

Riley graduated from Berea in 2015 with a degree in Communications.  He is also the Assistant Athletic Director and is married to the former Tessa Jones.  The couple reside in Berea and have a baby girl named Blakely.
