Men's Golf Complete Day One at USCAA National Championships

Damp, dreary conditions and a long, challenging course - made for a long day for not just the Berea College Mountaineers but for many of those competing at the USCAA Golf National Championships in State College, PA.

The PSU Blue Course, left many players feeling just that way as its length and damp, heavy rough took its toll.  Austin Worley carded the low round for the Mountaineers with an 80 good enough to be tied for 18th overall, four strokes better than "Kevin" Kim who is sitting in 38th.  Mikey Scott shot an 86, Daniel Piercefield shot an 89, Trevor Humes and Derrick Lisanby each shot a 93 to finish the team score.

Daemen College sits in first place in the team competition as their freshman top-gun, Mark Lesinski shot a one-over 73 to also sit in first-place overall.  The Mountaineers will be looking to move up both individually and as a team in tomorrow's second round.
