Golf Team Earns Seventh Place Finish at Strimer Memorial Invitational

The Berea College golf team visited Delaware, OH this past weekend to compete in the Strimer Memorial Invitational. The invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University Oakhaven Golf Club, was a two day, 36 holes event.

On Saturday, Trevor Humes and Austin Worley led the Mountaineers during the first round, shooting an 84 and 86 respectively. Berea ended the round and day as a team at the end of the leaderboard in eighth place but only three strokes behind the seventh place team Anderson University.

The golf team bounced back Sunday during the second round. Austin Worley improved score of 82 along with the improved shooting of the team would lead the Mountaineers to a better overall team score for the second round and push them ahead of Anderson University for seventh place by two strokes. Kenyon College took the team title and Alex Blickle of Kenyon College took the individual title.

The team will travel to Seymour, IN to compete in the Hanover Invitational this Saturday April 11th for a two day event. The invitational will take place at Shadowood Country Club with tee time beginning at 11:00 AM.
