Golf Places 4th, Kim Gets the Individual Win at Franklin

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA- The Berea College golf team was back in action on September 20th and 21st in the Dick Park Invitational, hosted by Franklin University in Indianapolis, Indiana, taking fourth place.

The first day started off a little rough for Berea's ace in Kevin Kim, who threw up five bogeys in his first round. Kim caught fire through a stretch, and made his five bogeys a moot point by birdieing seven holes to finish at two under par, and in first place after day one with 70 strokes. Trevor Humes shot 81, and Ben Piercefield and Austin Worley both shot 84. Berea totaled 319, putting them in third place after day one of the Dick Park Invitational.

Day two wasn't quite as strong for Berea, but still led by a valiant effort by Kevin Kim, who shot 73, putting him at one over par over the first two days, and crowning him the eventual champion of the tournament. Humes shot 82, and Worley and Piercefield shot 84 and 88, respectively. The total of 327 pushed Berea back one spot to finish 4th in the Dick Park Invitational.
The Mountaineers have this weekend off, and then head to Barbourville, KY the following week for their final tournament (hosted by Union College) before they head to the USCAA National Tournament in Pennsylvania.
