Golf Finishes Regular Season at the Union College Invitational

PINEVILLE, KY- The Berea College golf team took to the links of Wasiato Winds golf course in Pineville, KY this Monday and Tuesday in the Union College Invitational, finishing 9th.

Day one at Wasiato proved to be very troublesome for the BC golfers. Kevin Kim continued his strong play, shooting even par at 72. Austin Worley also did pretty well on the day, shooting 79 on the long, winding course. The team finished day one with a score of 334, putting them in 9th in the tournament.

Day two was much better for the Mountaineer linksmen. Kevin Kim finished his second 18 with a score of 73, putting him at one over par in the tournament, and 5th overall in the standings. Austin Worley shot 80, Trevor Humes shot 82, and Ben Piercefield shot 88 to help the Mountaineers drop their score by 11 strokes, putting them at 323 on day two, but still in 9th place.

The Union College Invitational was the final tournament of the regular season for the Mountaineers, who will head to the USCAA National Tournament this weekend. The tournament is going to be held at the Penn State University golf course on October 12th and 13th.
