Berea, KY-

Berea men's golf team traveled to Georgetown, Kentucky for their first tournament of the year in the Georgetown College Invite. Due to inclement weather, the tournament was changed to a one day, 27-hole tournament. The Mountaineers struggled to start their season as the team did not meet expectations in their opening tournament.

The Berea's men's golf team struggled for most of the day, however, Sophomore Peyton Browning shot the lowest score of his career and led the team with a 72. In the conclusions of the first 18 holes, Browning was 3 strokes behind the leaders, but a rough finishing 9 holes saw Browning fall from T-8 to a T-36 finish. After Browning, it was an adventure for the rest of the team. Returning senior Ryan Blevens shot an 85 and a 41, Sophomore Michael Akard shot a 90, and a 42. Freshmen Evan King and Isaiah Bolon struggled in their colligate debut as King shot a 90, and a 46, and Bolon shot a 95, and a 53.

Next up will be The Dick Park Invitational, which will be held in Edinburgh, Indiana, on September 22th and 23rd.
