Trent Milby enters his 5th season as head coach of the Berea College Men's Golf program.

Coach Milby takes over in the place of Coach Thomas Harkleroad who passed away in 2014. Milby has done an admirable job of filling the big shoes left by Coach Harkleroad. Milby has led the Mountaineers to improve every single year in stroke average and in their GolfStat ranking. Even though Milby is new to coaching golfers, he has been able to use his coaching prowness to develop a National Champion and All-Americans and has even been awarded a National Coach of the Year in golf.

In his first season, Milby was able to guide the golf program to an USCAA National Golf Tournament appearance and a win in the Bryan Invitational. He was also able to develop Junior Trevor Humes into a USCAA National Academic All-American.

In his second season, Milby was again able to guide the golf program to an USCAA National Golf Tournament appearance. Not only this, the program took a huge step forward. He led the Mountaineers to an 8th place finish in the National Tournament, the first top-10 finish at a national tournament in program history. He also developed Sophomore Kevin Kim to a First Team All-American and guided him to a 5th place finish at the National Tournament. He also helped the Mountaineers lower their stroke average from a 327.2 to a respectable 319.4. Because of all this, he was awarded by the USCAA as the National Golf Coach of the Year.

In his third season, Milby was able to guide the golf program to its third consecutive USCAA National Golf Tournament appearance. The program again took another huge step forward by finishing 4th at the National Tournament. The 4th place finish at the USCAA National Tournament is the 20th best score in USCAA National Tournament history. Milby's development of Junior Kevin Kim continued as Kim was able to win the USCAA National Tournament as an individual. He was also awarded with an USCAA First Team All-American and finished ranked top 10 by GolfStat in stroke average for all of NCAA Division III with a 72.1.

Milby earned his undergraduate degree in K-12 physical education from Lindsey Wilson College in 1999 and completed a master's degree in physical education and earned his Rank 1 from Western Kentucky University in 2005.  He taught in public school education for 14 years prior to arriving at Berea College.  He resides in Lexington, KY.
