Men's Soccer Loses in OT at Warren Wilson

The Berea College (4-7) men's soccer team plays a physical style of defense, and with damp conditions and a wet field, it was that style that nearly stole the show in western North Carolina in their match-up with Warren Wilson College (3-6).

It was the BC offense who looked ready for action first, as Jesse Massucco got the first shot of the game missing a goal wide right.  The Owls were the first team on the board after some nifty passing gave them a one on one with the BC goal keeper which they made count.  For the next 35 minutes both teams slogged their way through the remainder of the half in a defensive stalemate.

Massucco got a couple of chances in the 65th and 66th minutes of the second half, and he made the second count netting his eighth goal of the season and tieing the score.  Again both defenses clamped down allowing no further goals and pushing the game to over time.

There the Owls found a gap in the BC defense, and the back of the net to secure the win.  The Mountaineers will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Kentucky Christian University at 7:00 pm at the Berea College Soccer Complex.
