Seniors Come Up Big On Senior Day

BC seniors Storie Ratcliff, Josh Wedding, and Chris Gaughan may have been honored at half-time, but they didn't wait until then to make their presence felt.

Brad Camenisch got the party started at the 38:21 mark, making a great pass from Jesse Massucco count with a shot past the Toccoa Falls goalie.  The duo repeated that performance moments later as Camenisch went the other direction and netted his second of the day putting the Mountaineers up 2-0.

Josh Wedding got in on the scoring, taking a pass from fellow senior Storie Ratcliff and blasting a shot past the diving Eagle goalie for the 3-0 lead.  Ratcliff got his chance a few minutes later after a hard foul in the box resulted in a penalty kick, Ratcliff when high and left, while the goalie went right and Berea College went up 4-0 into halftime.

Toccoa Falls finally got on the board on a yellow card and subsequent penalty kick on goalie Ryan Atkins four minutes into the second half.  From there the second half became a game of field position as BC tightened up its defense, happy with the three goal lead.  Freshman midfielder/goal keeper Garrison Wagner, had his own ideas as he picked a loose ball near midfield and charged up the right side around two Eagle defenders and blasted the ball too the left side of the goal for BC's fifth and final goal of the night.

Atkins allowed only the penalty kick goal in his first start in goal, gobbling up 3 saves as the defense for the Blue Crew was stiff and physical the entire night.

Berea will be back in action on October the 29 as they play host to the University of the Cumberlands at 7:00 pm.
