Berea Ties Cumberlands 3-3 in 2014 Season Finale

Despite the cold weather, dedicated fans showed up to watch the Mountaineers play their last game of the 2014 season against the University of the Cumberlands.

Berea started out strong, scoring three goals in the first half, beginning with a goal by Brad Camenisch at the 13:05 mark. Rafael Mendoza added the second goal off an assist by Jesse Massucco 25:35 into the game. Mendoza would return the favor as he assisted Massucco on a goal 11 minutes before halftime.

Cumberlands would capititlize on two penalty kicks and a third goal to force overtime. In the two 10 minute overtime periods, neither team could find a way to put the ball in the back of the net. The strong defensive effort by both teams in overtime left the final score of the game at 3-3. Offensively, Berea took 13 shots, led by Camenisch's five shots. Goalkeeper Ryan Atkins finished the game with three saves on six attempts.

Berea's final record this season was 5-7-1.
