Mountaineers Win as they Hold USCAA #13 Cleary Scoreless

Howell, MI - Berea traveled north this past weekend to Michigan where they faced USCAA #13 Cleary University.

The Mountaineers got on the board at the 28:02 mark when Brad Camenisch broke through the Cleary defense and sent a shoot to the back of the net.  The game would go back and forth the rest of the half.  Cleary almost was able to tie it up before half but the goal was called back because of an offside penalty

In the second half the Mountaineers came out ready and shortly into the second half (55:12) Jessee Massucco scored off a turnover to put the Mountaineers up 2-0.  Then at the 71:15 mark Jesse Massucco found Brad Camenisch for another Berea goal and a 3-0 lead.  That goal would be the final goal of the game and secure the win for Berea.  The win puts Berea at 5-6-0 for the year.

Berea Goalie Noah Dehart played an outstanding game and held Cleary scoreless with eight saves on the day.

Berea will be back in action in Cincinnati, OH on October 7th when they take on UC-Clermont.  They return home in a double header with the women's soccer team on Saturday, October 10.  The women will take the field at 1:00 pm and the men at 3:00 pm.
