Lexington, KY- After playing their first game of the Transy Soccer Showcase yesterday, the men's soccer team returned to the pitch this afternoon to play their final game of the Showcase. The team started the Showcase against the host Transylvania University and took on the Trine University Thunder in the conclusion.

Berea was unable to convert their offensive opportunities in the first half into many shot attempts and even though Trine possessed the ball, the Mountaineers defense and goalkeeper was able to keep the ball out of their net. A defensive matchup between the two teams saw the halftime scoreboard read 1-0 in favor of the Thunder. The momentum shifted in favor of Trine in the second half as three goals in the half helped the Thunder win the game by a final score of 4-0. Noah DeHart started the game in the goal for Berea and made nine saves on thirteen shots. Issac Domenech took two shots for the offense, with one being on goal.

The team's next game will be the 2017 home opener as the Mountaineers open the USA South era with their first conference game against Greensboro College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM on Friday and you can watch all the action here.
