Berea Loses Rain Delayed Game to Centre

Danville, KY– The Berea Mountaineers took on the Centre Colonials at Centre this Saturday in a game with difficult weather and field conditions. Unfortunately, the Mountaineers were shutout by Centre, and lost 3-0. 

Centre scored the majority of their goals during the first half of the game, scoring the first goal at 9:31 by Will Newton, and the second goal taking place at 17:20 by Xavier Tomlin. While Berea got shutout, they did not go down without a fight. During the first half, Berea attempted 5 shots, in which 2 of them were on goal. Goalie Clay Sheaffer (Berea) successfully made 9 saves throughout the game, and Bailey Spade (Centre) made 2 in the first half.

Centre rolled into the second half scoring a goal 47:36 into the game. Berea had a sloppy second half, conceding fouls and recieving cards periodically through the half. Centre attempted many shots, but Berea's defense stepped up and only allowed the one goal, which came at the beginning of the 2nd half. Centre led the entire game and won with a final score of 3-0.

 

Berea will travel to Piedmont College this Saturday, September 26th, to play their fourth conference game of the season.
