BEREA, KY.--

The Berea College Men's Soccer team lost Saturday in a match against the N.C. Wesleyan College Battling Bishops. The Mountaineers made an honest effort but were not successful in scoring, resulting in a final score of 1-0.

The first half was a slow start for both teams as they each struggled to keep possession of the ball. The Battling Bishops did have some success at attempting shots with a total of 10 in the first half to Berea's 0. Of those shots, none resulted in a goal and 9 of them were saved, with the other resulting in a goalie assist.

The second half proved to be more eventful, with the Mountaineers stepping up and taking shots at the goal.  They attempted 3 shots to the Battling Bishops 15. Despite the discrepancy in shots, Berea still held their defensive line and goalie Noah DeHart only gave up one shot to N.C. Wesleyan's Matteo Costa at the 57:44 minute mark.

The Mountaineers will be back in action Sunday at 2:00 where they will take on Methodist. The Mountaineers will also be recognizing their senior players before the game.
