Men's Indoor Track Team Wraps Up Season at the Fred Wilt Invitational

Anderson, IN- The Berea college men's indoor track team wrapped up their season with the Fred Wilt Invitational hosted by NCAA Division III Anderson University.  The men's team saw many personal bests and ended the 2016-2017 season with a great showing.

In the field events Berea's Aaron Lange finished 11th in the Shot Put with a throw of 11.91m, Lange also finished 13th in the weight throw with a toss of 12.30m.  Dave Bell once again led the Berea jump squad with a 3rd place finish in the triple jump (12.42m) and a 5th place finish in the long jump (6.29m).

Dontez Lindsey was the top finisher in the 60m for Berea with a 11th place finish and a time of 7.43.  Aaron Effoe was not far of Lindsay finishing 14th and a time of 7.46.  Wesley Saintilnord led the Mountaineers in the 200m with a time of 23.7 finishing 11th.  Lindsay was right behind Saintilnord finishing 12th with a time of 23.97. 

Berea was well represented in the mile with three runners finishing in the top 15.  Senior Casey Monti was the first Mountaineer across the line in 5th place with a time of 4:32.30.  Corbin Flege improved his Personal best in the mile with a time of 4:41.16 to finish 10th and his brother Caleb Flege would also lower his personal best running 4:43.48 to finish 13th.  In the 5k Raymond McKinney crossed the line in 9th place with a time of 16:40.21.  Freshman Landon Bond bounced back after a personal best in the mile to finish 4th in the 3k with a time of 9:27.86.

Berea's 4x200m relay team of Aaron Effoe, Wesley Saintilnord, Sam King, Million Beshah finished 6th overall with a time of 1:38.16.  The "A" team 4x400 of Casey Monti, Caleb Flege, Corbin Flege and Dave Bell finished 4th running 3:38.84.  The "B" team made up of Million Beshah, Sam King, Dontez Lindsay and Kyle Young finishes 8th with a time of 3:43.93. 

This meet wrapped up the indoor season for the Mountaineers.  They will move onto outdoor track and field on March 18th when they travel to NCAA Division II Lenoir-Rhyne.  The meet is set to start at 10:00am.
