Mountaineer's Place 5th at the Pioneer Track and Field Invitational

LEXINGTON, KY- This weekend The Berea college men's track team took part in their second outdoor meet at the 2017 Transylvania University Pioneer Invitational.  The men's team finished 5th out of the 12 scoring teams at the invitational. 

In the Field events there were many personal best performances.  Sophomore Aaron Lange won the Javelin with a personal best throw of 54.83m. Senior Nicholas DeTore placed 7th in the Javelin and also had a personal best throw of 40.91m.  Senior Robin Hauschner finished 8th in the hammer with a personal best of 40.01m.  
Layne Sinkhorn started the day off for the Mountaineers on the track in the 3k Steeple finishing 5thTanner Carson came runner up in the 800m with a time of 1:59. Meanwhile, in the 5k, 3 of the top 5 scorers were led by Berea. Kyle Young (16:12) placed 2nd with a personal best time, Landon Bond (16:26) placed 4th, and Dylan Watkins (16:30) placed 5th.
Wesley Saintilnord led Berea in both the 100m dash and the 200m dash. Saintilnord placed 4th in the 100m with a time of 11.49 and placed 6th in the 200m with a time of 22.87. Dave Bell placed 3rd in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 58.68. 
 
Berea also had a good showing in both the relays.  The 4x100 team made up of Million Beshah, Saintilnord, Dontez Lindsay and Aaron Effoe placed 3rd overall with an end time of 44.36. The 4x400 of Carson, Beshah, Bell and Ethan Harris team finished 7th overall with a time of 3:34.  

 

The men's team will travel to Centre College on Saturday April 1st  to compete in the Centre College Invitational.
