Records Fall At Cedarville Invitational

Cedarville, OH- The men and women's track and field team traveled to Cedarville to compete in the Cedarville Invitational last weekend.  This was the first meet for many of the Mountaineers and three school records were broken.

Khatriah Malik broke the school record in the 60m dash with a time of 8.09.  Malik finished 4th out of the 27 girls that competed.  Abigail Schlenker shattered the school record running 10:33.1 to finish 4th out of 21 runners.  The women's distance medley team of Delaney Williams, Kaylee Robinson, Jenna Hughes and Abigail Schlenker also broke the school record with a time of 13.21.25. 

On the men's side, Logan McKenzie broke his own school record in the men's mile running 4:20.13.

In the women's field events, Allison Dallman finished 3rd jumping 1.57m.  Kierra Moore was 5th in the long jump with a leap of 5.07m and teammate Destinee Henery was 10th jumping 4.66m.  Maya Riddles threw the shot and got a mark of 8.99m. 

In the women's sprints, Kaylee Robinson finished behind Malik in the 60m running 8.25.  Other Mountaineers in the race were Alli Silas (9.10) and Hajar Mouchtahi (10.7).  In the 200m Kaylee Robinson was 8th overall with a time of 27.63.  Following Robinson was Malik and Moore running 28.04 and 28.42.  Other Mountaineers in the race were Destinee Henery (29.15), Allison Dallman (30.35) and Kayla Hush (31.91). Alli Silas was the lone Mountaineer in the 400m finishing 15th.  Henery also placed 9th in the 60m hurdles running 10.47.

On the distance side Berea had three runners in the 800m run.  Delaney Williams led the way finishing 9th place with a time of 2:32.22.  Following Williams was Jenna Hughes (2:36.57) and Tylan Eastham (2:46.94).  In the 3k Schlenker was 4th running 10.33.1.  Erin Gonterman ran 11:54.49, Ivanna Sabino finished with a time of 12:01.06 and Kelsey Hughes was 13:33.05.

In the men's field events Ricky Brayton was finished 13th in the shot put with a throw of 11.53m.

In the sprints, Zach Campbell set a personal best with a time of 7.57.  In the 400m Campbell was 20th and teammate Jared Pritt was 21st.

On the Distance side Kerry Jones was 17th in the 800m with a time of 2:07.  Berea had 5 runners in the mile.  Logan McKenzie won the event with a time of 4:20.13.  Tanner Carson was 7th running 4:28.75.  The other Mountaineers in the race were Caleb Flege (4:48.87), Kyle Young (4:58.33) and Trent Powell (5:34.61).  Berea finished 2nd and 3rd in the 5k with Landon Bond running 16:39.74 and Corbin Flege right behind with a time of 16:47.11.

The night ended with the men's distance medley team of Tanner Carson, Caleb Flege, Kerry Jones and Logan McKenzie winning the race with a time of 10:44.02.

Berea will open up their Outdoor Track and Field season on March 16th at the Charlotte 49er Classi
