Mountaineers Finish Sixth at Hanover Invitational
Hanover, IN - The men's Track and Field team competed in the Hanover Invitational over the weekend on Saturday, March 31st. The Mountaineers placed 6th, scoring 63 points out of the 12 competitive team there.
 
Scoring points for the team, freshman Corey Carroll placed 3rd in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.33. Also in this race were sophomore Zach Campbell running a 12.01, senior Aldrin Vinton running 12.51, and freshman Bedjimal Gondre running 13.12. Shining as well in the 200 meter dash, Corey Carroll placed 3rd and ran 23.07. Zach Campbell ran a 24.82. Junior Dave Bell ran a 53.85 in the 400 meter dash, earning him 13th place.
 
The men went 1-2 in the 800 meter dash, with shining performances from sophomore Logan McKenzie and freshman Kerry Jones. They ran a time of 1:57 and 1:59. McKenzie earned another 1st place in the 1500 meter dash running a time of 3:59. Sophomore Caleb Flege ended in 9th place running a time of 4:25. Following, freshman Trent Powell ran 5:11. 
 
Junior Tanner Carson led the 5000 meter run, winning with a time of 15:00. He was followed by sophomore Landon Bond, with a time of 15:53, finishing 7th. Kyle Young finished in 16:24, earning him 13th place. Zachary Raab and Corbin Flege followed with times of 16:32 and 16:39. 
 
Competing in the 400 meter hurdles, Dave Bell finished 2nd with a time of 57.93. Bell also earned 6th place in long jump, jumping 6.16 meters. Aldrin Vinton also competed in long jump, jumping 5.49 meters. 
 
Continuing with the field events, sophomore Richard Brayton threw 11.43 in shot put. Junior Tyler Harris threw 7.87 meters. In the discus throw, freshman Dylan Angiolillo threw 21.13 meters followed by sophomore Jacob Beckman who threw 20.61. In the hammer throw, Brayton threw 30.70 meters. Harris followed, throwing 21.11 meters. In the javelin throw Richard Brayton threw 33.41 meters, Jacob Beckman threw 25.00 meters, Tyler Harris threw 19.68, and Dylan Angiolillo threw 18.20 meters. 
 
The Mountaineers are on the road again this Friday, April 6th to compete at the Bellarmine Invitational at Bellarmine University.
