McKenzie Is Named USTFCCCA South/Southeast Region Track Athlete of the Year

New Orleans, LA- The Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Season we announced today.  Each of the eight regions honored both genders' top track and field athletes as well as the top men's and women's coaches and assistant coaches.   

Berea's very own sophomore, Logan McKenzie was named the South/Southeast Region track Athlete of the Year.  McKenzie, a sophomore from Athens, Tennessee, is ranked third nationally in the steeplechase with a time of 9:02.06. He is also ranked 15th nationally (second regionally) in the 1500 with a time of 3:51.57. McKenzie also clocked a time of 14:32.27 in the 5000, which put him second in the region.

The USTFCCCA also recognizes the top 5 in every event to the All Region team.  McKenzie earned All Region in the 800, 1500, 5k and 3k steeple. 

Corey Carroll was also named to the South/Southeast All Region team in the 100 meters. His time of 10.73 seconds ranked him 31st in the NCAA DIII.
