Berea, KY – The Berea College men's cross country team continue their winning streak and remain unbeaten after winning the Berea College Invitational this past weekend. The Mountaineers scored 37 points to finish first out of the ten team competing. Campbellsville took 2nd scoring 53 points and Tennessee Wesleyan was third with 84. Berea posted a team time of 2:16:45 and a team average of 27:21.
Jeremy Johnson led the Mountaineers and was the first college runner to cross the finish line with an impressive time of 26:15. Dylan Watkins was the next Berea runner to finish with a personal best 8k time of 26:42 and a 5th place finish. Logan McKenzie followed close behind Watkins to finish 6th running 27:14. Berea's Casey Monti also squeezed into the top ten finishing 9th with a time of 27:56. Raymond McKinney rounded out the scoring for Berea with a 16th place finish and a time of 28:34.
Other finishers for the Mountaineers were Corbin Flege in 18th (28:46), Dakota White 21st (28:53), Landon Bond 29th (29:31), Nathan Smith 30th (29:32), Isaiah Dodson 40th (30:17), Matthew Sargent 49th (31:40), Jose Gonzalez 54th (32:39) and Brandon Yearout in 82nd (35:20).
The Mountaineers will take a week off before heading to the Greater Louisville Classic on October 1st.
