Mountaineers Finish Off the Regular Season With a 3rd Place Finish at the #JennaStrong Classic

Wilmington, OH – The Berea College men's cross country team traveled to Wilmington College to compete in the #JennaStrong Invitational last Friday.  This meet was the last regular season meet for the Mountaineers before they enter the post season.  The men raced against over 300 competitors and 30 teams, and had very strong individual and team performances. The men placed 3rd overall and 1st for NCAA Division lll. They ran an average time of 26:52 with a total time of 2:14.21

Leading for the Mountaineers, with his 4th win this season was sophomore Logan McKenzie. McKenzie blazed through the finish line with a time of 25:10.  Logan finished 5 seconds ahead of the second finisher and 50 seconds ahead of 3rd. Following him was sophomore Tanner Carson crossing the finish line at 26:44, earning 22nd place. Freshman Kasey Jones had an impressive race as well, placing 43rd and running a time of 27:19. Closely behind, Landon Bond crossed the finish line at 27:24, finishing 50th. Rounding up for Berea's scorers, Junior Emmanuell Kemmei placed 62nd and ran a time of 27:44.

Other finishers for Berea include senior Zachary Raab, placing 66th, and running 27:45. Kyle Young ran in 96th place with a time of 28:21. In 146th place, Corbin Flege crossed the line with a time of 29:16. Finishing for Berea runners was Trent Powell in 312th place, running 36:55.

The men's team continues to show their strength in competitions. They will take a weekend off from competition and will come back to compete in the USA South Conference in Tallulah Falls, Georgia on October 28th.
