Berea Competes in NCAA XC National Championships

Louisville, KY.- Over the weekend Berea travelled to Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville to compete in the Division III National Championships. Berea averaged 26:10 over the muddy 8k course. Their efforts earned a team total of 723 points to place 30th.

Leading the Mountaineers was sophomore Sair Salgado, who finished in 66th place with an impressive time of 25:14. Following Salgado was senior Tanner Carson, who capped off his collegiate cross country career with a time of 25:53 to finish 171st. Just behind Carson was freshman Luke Wilson finishing in 25:54 to place 175th. The next Mountaineer across the line was sophomore Avery Fair in 26:22 to place 236th. Rounding out scoring for Berea was senior Caleb Flege placing 272nd in 27:29. The sixth Mountaineer to finish was in 27:39 placing 274th and the seventh was senior Logan McKenzie finishing in 28:29 to place 279th.

The Championships marked the conclusion of the season for the men. Look to see many of the athletes competing on the track again this Winter and Spring.
