Mountaineers Pick Up A Pair of Wins on Senior Day

Berea, KY- Berea College Softball takes two against Alice Lloyd on their last outing of the season as well as on Senior Day.

In the first game of the doubleheader. In the top of the first inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. In the bottom of the first inning the Mountaineers' Lanham doubled where she was left on base. In the top of the second inning the Eagles scored 1 run on 3 hits. In the bottom of the second inning Parker singled followed by Parsons single. Hackney bunted for a hit to have bases loaded but the Mountaineers next three batters fell short of moving the base runners. In the top of the third inning the Eagles scored 2 runs on 2 hits. In the bottom of the third inning Setters singled and Mercedes Stanfield singled but the Mountaineers still remained scoreless. In the top of the fourth inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. In the bottom of the fourth inning Hackney doubled to left field and advanced to third following by Madison Stanfield singling to score Hackney. In the top of the fifth inning the Lady Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. In the bottom of the fifth inning Setters singles followed by Lanham single. Parker singled scoring Lanham and advancing Stanfield. Mercedes Stanfield then scored on a wild pitch. In the top of the sixth inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. In the bottom of the sixth inning the Mountaineers were scoreless. In the top of the seventh inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 1 hit. In the bottom of the seventh inning the Mountaineers' Lanham doubled followed by Stanfield being intentionally walked. Parsons was intentionally walked. Hackney flew out to center which scored Lanham to win the game. The Mountaineers beat the Eagles 4-3.

Lanham had 3 hits followed by 2 hits from Setters and Hackney. Howard picked up the win in the circle.

In the second game of the day in the top of the first inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. In the bottom of the first inning the Mountaineers started off hot scoring 6 runs on only 2 hits and 1 error. This was due to a lot of the Mountaineers being walked. In the top of the second inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. In the bottom of the second inning Lanham doubled followed by Parkers single which scored Lanham. Parsons singled where she would stay for the rest of the inning. In the top of the third inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 3 hits. In the bottom of the third inning Smith doubled followed by Nash single. In the top of the fourth inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. In the bottom of the fourth inning Parker doubled followed by Parsons double. In the top of the fifth inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. In the bottom of the fifth inning Setters tripled. In the top of the sixth inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. In the bottom of the sixth the Mountaineers went scoreless. In the top of the seventh inning the Eagles scored 0 runs with 0 hits. The Mountaineers won against the Eagles 7-0.

Parker had 3 hits followed by Smith and Parsons with 2 hits each. Smith also picked up the win in the circle.
