Berea, KY- Berea College hosted the Franklin College Grizzlies in a doubleheader. The Mountaineers were sweep by the Grizzles bringing their record to 2-6.
Berea fell in the first doubleheader to Franklin College 15-1. The Mountaineers held the Grizzlies in the first inning, but they broke away in the 4th inning scoring 13 runs. The Mountaineers scored their single run in the 5th inning. Setters, Nash, and Dowdell led the Mountaineers with 1 hit each. Howard took the loss in the circle.
In the second game of the day the Mountaineers fell to the Grizzlies 14-4. The Grizzlies started off hot scoring 8 runs by the 3rd inning. The Mountaineers started scoring in the 4th inning with 2 runs. Franklin College ended up pulling out the win in the 6th inning by run rule. Nash led the Mountaineers in hitting with a single and a home run . Parker started pitching followed by Howard to close the game.
The Mountaineers play again in a weekday doubleheader on Thursday March 1st at Alice Lloyd College, the first pitch is scheduled for 2:00pm.
