Berea Drops Two at Maryville

Berea (11-21, 3-11 USA South), Maryville (19-8, 11-0 USA South)

Game 1 – Maryville 10, Berea 0

In the first game of the double header the Scots started out strong by scoring three runs in the first inning from three hits. The Scots continued to add five runs in the bottom of the third inning off of three hits. In the bottom of the fourth inning the Scots added two more runs from three hits. The Mountaineers did not fight back at the plate, and the Scots won in five innings. The Mountaineers lost 10-0.

Howard took the loss in the circle.

 

Game 2 – Maryville 10, Berea 2

In the second game of the doubleheader the Scots started off hot again scoring five runs in the bottom of the second inning off of six hits. In the top of the fourth inning the Mountaineers tried to fight back. Hubbard doubled to left field, followed by Fallis who tripled scoring Hubbard. Hackney then singled scoring Fallis. The Scots added one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning. In the bottom of the sixth inning the Scots added two more runs to end the game. The Mountaineers fell 10 to 2.

The Mountaineers were led by Fallis who had three hits, followed by Spencer who had two hits.

Winchester took the loss in the circle.

 

The Mountaineers are back in action Thursday, April 11 when they travel to Allice Lloyd
