Women's Basketball Falls at Brescia in Double Overtime

Sometimes 40 minutes simply isn't enough, tonight that was the case as the Mountaineers (0-2) traveled west to take on former KIAC rival Brescia University (2-4).  In this case, an initial overtime session was not enough either; as the contest took double overtime to settle.

BC took an eight point led to the locker room at intermission, but then gave up that lead in a fast and furious second half, which saw the Bearcats outscore the Mountaineers 55-47.  The first overtime saw that offensive tempo continue as the teams each scored 12 points.  The final overtime was when the big change occurred, as Brescia outscored Berea 12-2 going 6-6 at the charity stripe and nailing two big three pointers.  The Mountaineers were again led by Johnesha Warren who scored 29 points while Rayven Shead added 20.

The Blue Crew will be back in action this weekend as they head up the road to northeastern Indiana for the Huntington University tournament.  They will play IU-Southeast on Friday at 6:00 pm, then hosts Huntington on Saturday at a time to be announced.
