Women's Basketball Wins Third In A Row

Johnesha Warren seemingly couldn't miss tonight versus Kentucky Christian University at the
Zweifel/Pritchett Classic hosted by Asbury University.  Warren was a perfect 11-11 from the field as she scored 25 points to lead the Mountaineers (4-4) over the Knights (5-7).

Berea got hot early sprinting out with two impressive 10-2 runs in the first half that left KCU on their heels and looking for answers.  To the Kinghts credit, they would fight back trimming the lead to just two with 5:40 remaining in the half.  Head Coach Trent Milby called the necessry timeout and rallied his troops.  The Mountaineers would have one mini run in the half's final minute to create the 11 point lead they would take into intermission.

The second half was all Mountaineers as the Blue Crew went on a devistating 17-0 run just moments into the second stanza and they never looked back.  They cruised from the halve's mid point all the way to the final buzzer, leading at times by as many as 30 points.

The win was the third in a row for Berea, and more importantly was possibly more dominate than their previous two impressive wins over Taylor University and Centre College.  It also sets the stage for a showdown with the tournament's hosts, Asbury University.  That game is scheduled for 4:00 pm on Saturday.

Warren's perfection from the field allowed her to lead all scorers with 25, while Rayven Shead tossed in 23, while going an impressive 11-13 from the field.  Shead also cleared the glass, recording a team high nine rebounds.  Alexus Calhoun and Zacchea Small also reached double figures scoring 13 and 10 respectively, while Jamie Roberts dished out a team high seven assists.
