The USCAA announced their Women's Division I Basketball Player of the Week award today and the honor goes to Rayven Shead. The freshman forward from Louisville led the Lady Mountaineers to a 2-1 week while averaging a double-double. On the week she averaged 23.3 ppg on 71.1% shooting from the floor and grabbed 10.7 rpg. Her week was highlighted by a 30-point and 10 rebound double-double performance against Asbury University.
Shead becomes the first Berea College basketball player for either the men or the women, and the second Berea College female athlete to earn National Player of the Week honors.
