Mountaineers Surge Past Hawks

Berea, KY- The women's basketball team welcomed Huntingdon College to the Seabury Center on January 27, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. for their ninth home game this season. Berea honored its seniors today before the game, which included Adriana Williams, Zacchea Small and Jaime Roberts. In the end the Mountaineers defeated Huntingdon with a final score of 68-60. This is the 11th straight win for the Mountaineers, and their overall record for this season is now 15-2 and 7-1 in the conference.

At halftime Berea led the Hawks 50-32. Marley Lawson led the first half with 11 points and 3 rebounds. Zacchea Small also added 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in the first half as well. Berea shot 48 percent from the field and committed 5 turnovers in the first half.

The Mountaineers maintained their lead in the second half defeating Huntingdon with a final score of 81 -67. Overall, Berea shot 43% percent in free-throws. Adriana Williams led the Mountaineers with a total of 20 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds. Bri Lanham also led with a total of 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Mountaineers will be back in action at home on Sunday, January 28th taking on Piedmont College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
