Berea, KY- The women's basketball team welcomed Piedmont College to the Seabury Center on January 28, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. for their tenth home game this season. In the end the Lions defeated the Mountaineers with a final score of 70-79. This lost snapped a 11 game win streak bringing their overall record for this season is now 15-3 and 7-2 in the conference.
At halftime Piedmont led Berea 40-45. Zacchea Small led the first half with 12 points and 3 rebounds. Marley Lawson also added 10 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in the first half as well. Berea shot 35 percent from the field and committed 9 turnovers in the first half.
The Mountaineers were not able to pull ahead in the second half and fell to the Lions. Overall, Berea shot 33% percent in free-throws. Zacchea Small led the Mountaineers with a total of 16 points and 4 rebounds. Adriana Williams also led with a total of 14 points, 1 assist and 2 rebounds.
The Mountaineers will be back in action at home on Thursday, February 1st taking on Wesleyan College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00pm.
