Greensboro, NC- The Berea College Mountaineers took on the Ferrum College Panthers in the USA South Conference Semifinal game. Berea controlled most of the game and in the end defeated the Panthers 68-54. This win moves Berea into the USA South Championship game where the Mountaineers will take on the Piedmont College Lions. Berea and Piedmont have met twice and the series is tied 1-1.
In the first half, the Mountaineers jumped out to a 22-15 lead. Berea continued to hit shots and headed into the locker room up 46-22. Ferrum tried to rally a comeback in the second half but Berea held strong and grabbed the 68-54 win.
The Mountaineers were led by Adriana Williams with 26 points and 6 steals. Bri Lanham scored 9 points and led the Mountaineers under the glass with 8 rebounds. Berea shot 38.3%% from the field, 31.3% from the field and 63% from the line.
Berea will take on Piedmont in the USA South Championship game tomorrow in Greensboro at 1:00pm.
