Berea 67, North Park 60
1st Half Stats:
In the first quarter, Berea and North Park traded baskets for the first three minutes of the game to make the score 8-7 with Berea in the lead. Kiley Barnard rained the boards with 12 points to end the half, followed by Briana Lanham with 8 points and Kelsey Tippitt with 7. In the beginning of the second quarter, the Mountaineers started on a 13 to 2 run to pull ahead 27-20. Although the Vikings were getting on the board, Berea finishes strong to lead 37 to 32 at the half.
2nd Half Stats:
Moving into the third quarter, Bear racked up the first six points to take a 43-32 lead. The Vikings managed to get stop Berea's run but it wasn't enough to compete with the Mountaineers as they finished the game with a 7 to 1 run from the free throw line to defeat the Vikings.
2nd Game:
Berea advances to play UW Stout in the championship game of the North Park University Tournament. Berea jumped all over the Blue Devils in the quarter, taking a 22-8 lead by the end of the quarter. Moving into the second quarter, the Mountaineers defense falls short leaving the Blue devils with a 33-29 lead into the half. Berea came back in the third to pull to within 51-50 but Stout lit up the boards to win the game: 64 Stout 59 Berea
Overall Stats:
1st game:
Kiley Barnard led the Mountaineers with 20 points and 5 assists
2nd game:
Bailee Vanover led Berea with 14 points. Nakeisha Greene had 13 point and Briana Lanham 11.
Mountaineers were 90.9% from the free throw line.
Berea made a name for themselves in the NPU thanksgiving tournament in the North Park Gym, they took care of business with a finishing record of 3-1.
