Berea College continued their success at home and against USA South Conference opponents by defeating Covenant College 80-72. The Lady Mountaineers were led by Junior Guard, Briana Lanham with 22 points and 9 rebounds and also by Freshman Guard, Bailee Vanover who had 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals.

The first half started with both teams making shot after shot, but the Lady Mountaineers were able to take a 7 point lead going into half time. The Lady Mountaineers were led by Briana Lanham with 10 points and Senior Guard Kiley Bernard with 7 points. The Scots were led by Joanna Smith and Bekah Walter with 8 points each.

In the 3rd quarter, The Lady Mountaineers were able to pull ahead of the Scots by outscoring them 21-14 in the quarter. However, in the 4th, the Scots were able to chip away at the lead to only be behind by 1 with 5 minutes left in the game. However, the Lady Mountaineers were able to pull ahead and win the game by the score of 80-72.

Junior Guard Briana Lanham finished the game with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Junior Guard Kristen Barnes and Freshman Guard Bailee Vanover both finished with 13 points. The Mountaineers forced the Scots to turn the ball over 20 times and outrebounded the Scots 42-32.

The Mountaineers continue to dominate the USA South, only losing 3 games in the last year and a half.

Next game for the Lady Mountaineers will be at home December 17th against the St. Mary of the Woods Pomeroys. The game will be the last game as the Lady Mountaineers go on a 2-week break before starting up again in the New Year.
