Lookout Mountain, GA - The Women's Basketball team traveled to Lookout Mountain, Georgia to take on the Covenant Scots on Wednesday evening. The Mountaineers won the battle against another conference opponent, outscoring the Scots 71-61. This win made their record an impressive 10-3 overall, and 6-0 in the USA South conference.

The Mountaineers started strong, keeping the lead throughout the first quarter. Freshman Guard Bailee Vanover had 7 points in the first quarter with Senior Guard Kiley Barnard contributing 7 more, helping the Lady Mountaineers stay ahead.  In the second quarter, the Lady Mountaineers continued to keep the Scots off, leading into the half with a score of 37-25.

In the third quarter, the Mountaineers continued their lead, with Junior Guard Kristin Barnes scoring 7 points. The third quarter ended with Berea adding 18 points to the board, while Covenant added 12. Berea let off the gas a little in the 4th quarter, being outscored by Covenant 24 to 16. However, thanks to their work in the previous quarters, they still came out ahead with a final score of 71-61.

This win marked the 6th straight conference win to start out the season for the Lady Mountaineers. It was also Head Coach Trent Milby's 100th win as the Head Coach of the Lady Mountaineers.

The Mountaineers will be traveling to Piedmont College on Saturday, January 12th, with tipoff starting at 2pm.
