The Mountaineers dominated against in-conference rival Piedmont College to take first place over the Lions in the USA South West Division standings. Berea College showed their offensive skill shooting 47.2% from the field and 33.3% from 3. The Mountaineers also added 33 rebounds and 18 steals.

The game was close in the first quarter with both teams ended the quarter tied at nine. The only two Mountaineers to score in the first were Bethanie Williams who scored 7 points and Isis Hill who scored two. In the second quarter Piedmont pulled ahead by 4 to take the lead into the half.

The Mountaineers came out big in the third quarter, outscoring the Lions 30-10, with Bethanie Williams and Kristin Barnes both putting up 10 while Nakeisha Green hauled in four rebounds. In the fourth the Mountaineers would hold on and take the 76-49 victory. Bethanie Williams led the team with 27 points and 3 steals while Isis Hill hauled in 9 boards.

The Mountaineers will back in action Wednesday January 30th on the road against Saint Mary of the Woods College in Indiana. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
