Berea, KY- The women's basketball took down William Peace University in the Seabury Center to win their quarterfinal game in the USA South Conference Tournament. 

The first quarter was a close one as the Mountaineers took a two point lead into the second. They were led in the first quarter by Bailee Vanover who had seven points, while Isis Hill contributed three rebounds. The Mountaineers created some breathing room going into halftime with a 34-29 lead. Briana Lanham led scoring in the quarter contributing 6 points.

The second half was a battle between the Mountaineers and the Pacers, but junior forward Nakeisha Greene took over, scoring 7 points, bringing in 5 rebounds, and adding 3 blocks. They successfully held off the Pacers and finished with a final score of 71-52. Overall, Berea shot 43.6 percent from the field and 58.8 percent from the line.  The Mountaineers were led by Bailee Vanover with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Bethanie WilliamsBriana Lanham, Nakeisha Greene each added 11 points.  Greene also led the Mountaineers under the glass pulling in 12 rebounds, giving her a double-double.

The Mountaineers will now advance to the Semi-finals where they will take on Averett University at Piedmont College.  Tip-off is scheduled for Sat. Feb. 23rd at 3:00pm.
