Trent Milby joined as the head coach of the Berea College women's basketball program prior to the 2013-14 season.

Before coming to Berea, Milby spent seven seasons at the helm of the girls' basketball program at Marion County High School, where he amassed a 208-36 record.  In his last season at Marion County High School, Milby led the Lady Knights to an undefeated 39-0 season and a state championship, finishing the year ranked #4 nationally by USA Today.  Milby was named the 2013 Naismith National Women's Coach of the Year.

In his first season with the program, Milby led the women’s basketball team to the first winning season in four years, finishing 14-13. Milby also had two of his players named to the KIAC all-conference team (Erika Parks and Johnesha Warren).

In his second season, Milby led the women’s basketball team to the USCAA National Championship game, losing to Daeman College 76-73 and finishing the season with a 17-10 record.  Milby also developed Johnesha Warren into a First Team USCAA All American and developed two freshman (Adriana Williams and Alexus Calhoun) to USCAA All American Honorable Mention.

In his third season, Milby guided the Mountineers to another USCAA postseason action with a 15-12 record. This also included Adriana Williams receiving first team All-American honors, and freshman Bethanie Williams receiving honorable mention accolades in the USCAA. 

In his fourth season, Milby led the Lady Mountaineers to another Runner-up finish in the USCAA National Championship. Dealing with injuries to 4 of his 5 opening night starters from the previous season, Coach Milby was able to led the young Lady Mountaineer squad to a 21-7 record. The 21-7 record also included one of the longest winning streaks in program history at 13 straight wins. The best season for the program in over 10 years. Because of this he was also awarded with the USCAA National Coach of the year, his second national coach of the year title in basketball. Milby was also able to guide 4 players to national awards as well: Freshmen Bri Lanahm and Sophomore Bethanie Williams were announced as USCAA First Team All-Americans, Freshmen Nakeisha Greene was announced as an USCAA Honorable Mention All-American, and Junior Jaime Roberts was announced to the USCAA All-Tournament Team.

In his fith season, Milby led the Lady Mountaineers to the Regular-Season USA South Western Division Championship finishing 23-4. Dealing with an injury to the leading scorer from the previous season, Coach Milby was able to claim the regular season title, as well as lead the Mountaineers to a runner-up finish in the USA South Conference Championship. Adriana Williams was able to recieve an All-Conference selection in her senior season, returning from a torn ACL. For his achievements, Coach Milby recieved the USA South Coach of the Year award, making it his 3rd Coach of the Year in 4 years.   

His six year record at Berea College is 103-50. His lifetime coaching record is 382-137.

Milby also co-founded Kentucky Premier, an AAU organization sponsored by Nike that play on the EYBL circuit.  In just seven years, Milby has helped place over 175 players from Kentucky Premier in NCAA Division I, II, II and NAIA basketball programs. Milby served on the USCAA national ranking committee and all American committee for the last three seasons.

Milby earned his undergraduate degree in K-12 physical education from Lindsey Wilson College in 1999 and completed a master's degree in physical education and earned his Rank 1 from Western Kentucky University in 2005.  He taught in public school education for 14 years prior to arriving at Berea College.  He resides in Lexington, KY.
